Trademark and Copyright Associate – Mid to Senior-Level Associate

Leason Ellis is seeking an experienced associate to join our dynamic trademark and copyright team!

Leason Ellis is a relatively young and growing IP firm headquartered in White Plains, New York. We launched in 2008, and now house 30 trademark, copyright and patent attorneys under our roof.

Description of Qualifications, Job Duties, and Responsibilities:

Desktop Support and LAN Coordinator

Leason Ellis LLP is seeking an experienced IT professional to provide support to our dynamic end user base in our Windows 10 and VMware environment.

The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to:

  • Follow up and through with specific initiatives and directives from IT Committee regarding the deployment of new desktop products and services
  • Support an end-user base with varying levels of IT proficiency
  • Manage and balance end user expectations with firm procedures and protocols
  • Work as part of a team with peers and leadership within the organization, as well as appraising key stakeholder with respect to proposed or planned developments and upgrades
  • Work successfully with IT related vendors

Specific Duties Include:

  • New user set-ups including intake of documents and contacts
  • Manage daily help desk tickets consisting of advanced Win10 and MS Office support issues, as well as escalate and coordinate resolution of above-identified end-user issues with Managed Services Provider
  • Coordinate and assist with individual workstation and enterprise-wide desktop software upgrades, including the performance of end-user hardware moves, support issues, set-ups and replacements
  • Maintain firmwide inventory of technology related items
  • Support third-party telephone, access card systems and high production printer/scanning equipment, including vendor engagement with maintenance and support issues

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in MIS or computer science and IT certifications (CompTIA A+, etc.) preferred
  • 2+ years of IT generalist experience providing end user help desk support in a Windows and fast-paced service environment
  • Strong proficiency with Windows 10 and various desktop applications including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong written, verbal communication, organizational and people / customer service skills
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to complete job duties with a high degree of accuracy
  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills including the ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions in stressful situations

Trademark Paralegal – Mid to Senior Level

Leason Ellis LLP is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our dynamic trademark team! Must have a paralegal certification and/or a college degree and significant experience with trademark work. Required experience includes trademark prosecution, registration, search and clearance, and enforcement — U.S. and foreign filings and portfolios, applications, dockets and preparing USPTO and client correspondence.

    The successful candidate must have the demonstrated ability to:

  • Assist in all phases of domestic and international trademark prosecution
  • Support multiple trademark attorneys, as well as internal and external clients
  • Prioritize and manage a full workload with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Work both independently and in collaboration with other paralegals and attorneys
  • Articulate clearly and effectively in verbal and written communications with a strong focus on accuracy and proper grammar usage
  • Comprehend and follow through with instructions, as well as ask well thought out questions when clarity is needed
    Specific Duties Include:

  • Prepare and file USPTO forms for all phases of prosecution and maintenance.
  • Prepare and file assignment documents with the USPTO.
  • Client correspondence regarding all phases of prosecution including following up on deadlines, obtaining specimens of use, and preparing reports.
  • Instruct and prosecute foreign filings including through the Madrid Protocol.
  • Complete and attend to execution of Powers of Attorney and legalization of documents.
    Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate.
  • Experience with trademark prosecution and USPTO forms, database, and website.
  • Strong writing skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize workload.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel.
  • Experience with Corsearch and exposure to docketing software is a plus.
