PROFESSIONAL PROFILE:

Ariel Reinitz has experience handling intellectual property issues involving patents, trademarks, and copyrights for a broad range of domestic and international clients, from large corporations to universities to start-ups. Mr. Reinitz has assisted clients in various industries including computer software and hardware, telecommunications, Internet technologies, and medical devices.

In his practice, Mr. Reinitz assists clients in protecting their intellectual property at all phases, from inception to enforcement. He has helped clients identify and refine new ideas in order to obtain broad intellectual property protection. In addition, Mr. Reinitz has prepared and prosecuted Accelerated Prosecution patent applications, interviewed numerous Patent Examiners, and conducted ex parte reexamination proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Reinitz also has considerable litigation practice and has counseled and represented clients in patent and intellectual property disputes. He has experience in motion practice, conducting discovery, claim chart drafting and analysis, and settlement and licensing negotiations. Additionally, he has provided opinions on patentability, infringement, freedom-to-operate, and due diligence. Mr. Reinitz has also counseled clients with regard to open source compliance.

Mr. Reinitz received his J.D. from The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was awarded the Dean's Merit Scholarship. He holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Yeshiva University, where he was designated a Yeshiva University Distinguished Scholar. Prior to embarking on a career in intellectual property law, Mr. Reinitz worked as a software developer for J.P Morgan - Chase and several internet start-ups.
