On behalf of our client Nourison Industries, Inc., Leason Ellis attorneys Christina Sauerborn and Yuval Marcus recovered the domain names NOUCISON.COM and NOURICON.COM, both close misspellings of the NOURISON name and mark. The NOUCISON.COM domain name was being used to perpetuate a fraud against one of Nourison’s customers: the registrant sent one of Nourison’s customers emails that appeared to be coming from a Nourison sales agent’s account but were sent using a false email address and copied Nourison employees by using email addresses that ended with @noucison.com instead of @nourison.com. These fake emails instructed Nourison’s customer to wire over $100,000 to the registrant’s bank account. Upon learning of the fraudulent scheme, Leason Ellis took steps to suspend the domain name and filed a UDRP Complaint to recover the domain name. Leason Ellis also filed a UDRP Complaint against the NOURICON.COM domain name to prevent that domain name from being used for similar fraudulent acts. Christina prepared and filed the UDRP Complaints, which resulted in the attached Decisions ordering the transfers of the domain names NOUCISON.COM and NOURICON.COM to Nourison.
